Wetpour Play Areas
This is the maximum height from children can fall from the highest point from play equipment and wet pour can protect to up to 3.0m, depending on the sub base. The soft rubber system is constructed from a base SBR recycled rubber and a top layer of EPDM rubber crumb which both have been mixed with a PU binder and trowelled onto the required area. It provides a porous, hard wearing system that is also seamless and is tested to BS7188.
The EPDM is a great smooth surface which will ensure the children are safe during play. Therefore, we always recommend a proactive maintenance strategy to ensure that no dirt can block the pores of the surface to prevent flooding and waterlogging. Water damages are very bad for the surface as they can be permanent and consequently require heavy repairs. The repairs can be both very simple and very complex depending on the size of the damages. This means that if the damages are only minor, a repair kit is likely to be able to fix the problem.
The maintenance will also allow you to spot any problems as soon as possible to avoid children getting hurt due to these issues. In a playground, we should be contacted immediately if any repairs are needed due to this possibility of the pupils hurting themselves on the surface.
The repairs can be both very simple and very complex depending on the size of the damages. This means that if the damages are only minor, a repair kit is likely to be able to fix the problem. Repair kits consist of binder, primer, EDPM rubber crumb and rubber gloves and involve you completing the repairs rather than our specialist team. However, if the damages are on a larger scale, our team must visit your facility to provide the expert repairs necessary.
