Nortex Self Binding Gravel Surfacing was used many years back for all weather surfaces on athletics tracks, training football pitches, long jump runways, tennis courts and hockey pitches. As time has progressed many of these areas are getting renovated with new far superior 3G artificial grass for the football fields, sand filled synthetic turf for the hockey pitches, epdm rubber surfacing for the long jump runways and IAAF spray coat polymeric surfaces for the athletics tracks.
Although the nortex gold top is a porous hard surface that used to be installed for play areas, schools, leisure centres and sports clubs many complain about the playing performances achieved for the desired sports and with technology a core part of our company is upgrading these areas, renovating the ball courts, replacing with the latest state of the art sports surfaces.
All of the latest surfaces are also porous so drainage is needed to be completed beneath the sub base and if your existing nortex surface area holds water for any reason then this needs to be addressed prior to installing new 3g sports surfaces or synthetic turf astroturf pitches. Many also prefer to have an underlay sports shockpad installed to give a cushioned feel underfoot for the sports players which can be done in SBR rubberised crumb or preformed matchpad.
For athletics facilities like the long jump runways, triple jump run ups, high jump fans and throwing circles then these are upgraded to an EPDM rubber granule finish polymeric sports surface. The EPDM can be supplied in a range of colours but the most common are red epdm. For further details please call our office on 01625 445760 or visit our website.
