Open textured Macadam surfaced MUGAS can be painted in a Polyurethane Fully Textured Anti Slip coating which helps achieve a specified and approved anti slip rating. The coating, which can achieve a slip resistance of 60 TRRL or 75TRRL when additional aluminium oxide is added, is tested to be accredited to many sports governing bodies; these are CHAS, CONSTRUCTION LINE & API.
These types of MUGA or Multi Use Games Areas are often used for sports like Netball, Athletics, 5 a Side Football, Basketball and Tennis and the surface will be tested to perform to BS7044-4 and BS4790. The surface will be designed to be painted with sports line markings and these will also be painted with a Fully Textured Water Based Polyurethane Line Mark coating which is normally produced in 5 different colours such as White, Red, Green, Yellow and Blue. The sports lines will be marked to a width of 50mm unless specified and these all of this information is normally found on the projects Q26 specification sheet.
