Sports
We install surfacing in a whole host of different specifications, each different surface type has individual qualities which suit multiple sports. Here is a summary of the sports we specialise in and the surfacing we recommend for each one:
Astroturf Football Pitch Surfacing
Our team have completed numerous construction projects for football pitches across the UK. This work is commonly carried out at schools, sports clubs and leisure centres with a number of designs available. The most common type of surface we install for astroturf football pitch facilities is artificial grass, this can be supplied in a number of different specifications. You can see the different materials we offer for these football pitch services below:
2G Sand Filled Turf – This second generation artificial surface type consists of a synthetic grass carpet which has a silica sand infill layer installed within the fibres. This sand creates a stable playing surface and keeps the turf carpet upright, sand filled surfacing can also be used for hockey.
Needlepunch Synthetic Turf – Made up of fibre bonded curly yarn fibres, the needlepunch specification is extremely durable and long lasting. It can be installed in a range of bright colours and is also commonly used for athletics tracks.
3G Artificial Grass – The most advanced synthetic grass sport surface specification on the UK market. 3G artificial turf has a layer of rubber infill granules within the turf fibres to create natural playing characteristics for football.

Artificial Rugby Pitches
Another sport which is commonly played in schools and clubs through the UK is rugby, and this requires a specially designed surface. The only sports flooring that we can use for an artificial rugby pitch is 3G grass. This is because the 3G specification provides the most impact absorption for contact sports like rugby, so the chance of injury is reduced.
It is also has the most natural playing qualities as it is specially designed to share the characteristics of real grass. This specification of synthetic turf contains rubber granules within the fibres to help improve the performance characteristics and make them as similar to natural turf as possible. The sizes and designs can be altered and made bespoke to suit each client, so we ensure that you get the perfect end result.
A shockpad is always installed beneath the artificial turf surfacing for a rugby pitch to enhance the safety of the facility and protect players’ joints and muscles. It is required because rugby is a contact sport and there is more chance of injuries happening on the field compared with other sports. Having this protective shockpad layer underneath the carpet ensures that the flooring is completely safe for players and will provide a comfortable playing experience during practise sessions and matches.
Our team are able to complete the full construction of these facilities at various places including schools, colleges and clubs. We have completed many projects in the past and we have plenty of case studies and references available if you would like to have a look at these. Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information on the prices for this work. Each project is completely different so the costs can vary depending on area size, location and existing site conditions.
One of our experts will get back to you as soon as possible with an idea of the costs for your project. Please be sure to include as much information as possible regarding your budget and the size of the work that needs to be done.

Hockey Pitch Contractors
Sand filled and sand dressed synthetic turf are the best surface types for a hockey pitch as the short pile height allows the ball to glide smoothly across the surface of the grass. Sand dressed artificial grass is usually installed only for use with hockey as it has a short pile height and the sand is distributed only onto the top later of the turf. On the other hand, sand filled surfacing can be used for other sports like football and tennis. We are able to install both of these specifications depending on what is needed for your facility.
These areas are commonly installed at schools and colleges in the UK, along with local sports clubs and leisure centres. The flooring is suitable for both training and competitive matches as it offers a versatile playing surface for a range of uses. We can supply turf with a shorter pile height to ensure the hockey ball moves correctly over the flooring to give accurate playing qualities. Please be sure to contact our team for more information on the range of hockey surfaces we can install. Just complete the contact box on this page with your details.
One of our experts will get back to you as soon as possible with more details on the prices for this kind of work. Be sure to give us as much information as you can about your budget and requirements so we can give you an accurate quote for the work.
Netball and Basketball
Netball and basketball can both be played on similar sports surfaces, and multi use games areas often feature line markings for both. Polymeric and macadam surfacing provide ideal ball bounce characteristics for these sports, however some specifications have slightly higher slip resistance ratings depending on the primary sport. For outdoor netball courts the ideal flooring will have a higher anti slip rating to give more grip and traction on the surface. If your facility is mainly going to be used as an outdoor basketball court the non slip paint coating can have slightly different qualities which are better suited to this sport.
We are able to apply coloured paint to these hard courts in a range of colour combinations including two tone designs. If you want the area to be used for multiple sports, we can apply extra sets of line markings in different colours to make sure they stand out. The design is totally up to you and we can make sure your netball or basketball facility has the perfect playing qualities and looks just how you want it.
Our team would be happy to answer any questions you have about this work so don’t hesitate to get in touch and let us know what you need. The construction process for these facilities can vary so please give us as much detail as you can on the area size, location and any requirements you might have. Outdoor Tennis Court Specialists
Tennis is a versatile sport which can be played on a variety of different surface types. We can supply and install these facilities in a number of designs to suit each client. You’ll often see this kind of facility at schools, sports clubs and even at domestic homes in people’s back gardens. The most widely used designs are hard courts as these tend to offer the best ball bounce and slip resistance qualities. Below you can see the most popular specifications that our tennis court specialists will install:
Macadam Court Surfacing – The macadam tennis court specification is very popular with schools as it is a durable and long lasting surface type which can be used for many different sports. Anti slip paint coatings and line markings can be applied to enhance performance and safety qualities. These come in various colours including red, blue, green and purple, but you can choose a unique design to suit exactly what you want.
Polymeric Rubber Surfaces – Polymeric EPDM surfacing is also extremely durable and can be utilised for tennis along with a number of other sports. This specification is made up of rubber crumb particles which are mixed together with a binder. A range of different colour options are available with polymeric surfacing and contrasting line markings can also be applied. We are able to apply multiple sets of coloured markings if you would like the area to be used for a few different sports.
Artificial Grass – Sand filled synthetic turf is also used for tennis court facilities. These are designed to mimic the playing qualities of natural grass. A short pile height of 10-19mm is usually installed as this provides the best performance qualities for tennis.
Each of these can be designed to suit different area sizes and budgets so feel free to ask if you have any particular designs in mind. Just fill in the contact form to get in touch with our team and receive a quote for any work you need.
Please let us know if you’ve got a budget in mind for the work or you need specific playing qualities. We’d be happy to put together a bespoke design which fits in with exactly what you want.
