Rubber tarmac is a soft safety surface that is designed to protect children from hurting themselves from falling from play equipment in play areas. Rubber tarmac is actually better known as Wet Pour or Rubber safety surface which is made from a rubber EPDM recycled chipping. This rubber chipping is mixed with a PU binder to our specification and then is applied via trowel to the required area. Rubber tarmac is often known as other things such as rubber tarmac, rubber asphalt or rubber macadam.
The Wet Pour is applied to different thicknesses, specified to critical fall heights or equipment or minimum thickness for sub base such as 20mm for tarmac. Sub bases for rubber safety surfacing can be MOT Type 1 stone, tarmac or concrete. Poured in Place wet pour EPDM rubber comes in black as a standard colour but also as 12 different full colours like Orange & Purple. Wet Pour graphics is now a popular choice for play areas or schools. Graphics can be made to most designs and specifications but also as standard designs.
